AN-ACC rises 2.55% from 1 October: what actually changes

On 2 September 2026, the Government confirmed the AN-ACC base price will rise from $295.64 to $303.19 from 1 October, a 2.55% uplift, retained on IHACPA's 2026–27 pricing advice.

Why this matters

This isn't a reweighting. Every NWAU value holds across all 19 variable funding classes and 8 Base Care Tariff categories, and every care minute target holds across the 16 classes that carry one. Only the price moves. No resident needs reclassifying, no roster needs rebuilding.

What actually moves

  • Variable funding rises proportionally: from +$1.59 a day (Class 2) to +$5.51 a day (Classes 1, 13 and 98).
  • Base Care Tariff rises the same way: from +$2.92 a day (Standard MM1) to +$13.59 a day (Specialised Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, MM7).
  • Average funding per resident is estimated to rise from about $317 to $325 a day, the figure that actually reaches your revenue line.

What to check before 1 October

The uplift sits below CPI: 2.55% against 3.5% to July 2026. The 4.75% award increase already took effect on 1 July, so three months of it lands before the price catches up. If you run metro (MM1) homes, the care minutes supplement is earned on performance, not paid automatically. Model it alongside the base tariff rather than assuming it lands on its own.

Takeaway: Reforecast at the new rate. Because nothing was reweighted, last quarter's resident mix carries straight through: you're re-pricing, not re-modelling.
